IN THE PAINT

Band of Vices is pleased to present “a new season of stories” featuring some of the city’s finest emerging artists. Ten artists of color from across the Los Angeles region are being honored by the Los Angeles Lakers as part of the team’s annual In the Paint art program that recognizes, supports, and uplifts artists from historically marginalized communities.

The Lakers will recognize these local artists throughout the 2024-25 NBA season, spotlighting their individual stories and creative contributions to the Los Angeles community. Each artist will receive a $10,000 grant to support their artistic endeavor and create three new works of art to showcase at the annual Lakers In the Paint art exhibition opening on the 8th of February 2025 at Band of Vices art gallery in the historic downtown arts district. The exhibition will be on view until the 8th of March, where patrons can purchase the artworks.

The 2024-25 Lakers In the Paint selected artists are: Abby Aceves, Estefania Ajcip, Jessica Taylor Bellamy, Daryll Cumbie, Derick Edwards, Megan Gabrielle Harris, Marlon Ivory, Larry Li, Ann Phong Michael the Khoi Tran.
