Band of Vices serves as a platform for emerging, mid-career & established Artists, whose discipline include painting, mixed media, photography & sculpture.
One of the leading contemporary art spaces in the emerging West Adams (Arts) District, Band of Vices (BoV) was founded in 2015 by professional actor and art-collector/curator Terrell Tilford. His first gallery, Tilford Art Group (1999-2010) was launched in New York City, then located to Mid-City, Los Angeles. Tilford rebranded the gallery as BoV to concentrate programming on self-taught, emerging and mid-career artists whose work gives voice to the voiceless.
Exhibitions in our flagship location have included the solo shows April Bey – Made In Space; Sharon Louise Barnes – Process & Materials; Chelle Barbour’s You IS Pretty! Surrealism & the Black Imaginary, in which Oscar-nominee Angela Bassett served at Guest Curator and February James – Collision Course and most recently, Between Two Worlds, a two-person exhibition of new works by Ariel Vargassal and Dominic Chambers and their first group show, Remnants of Things Left Behind, featuring the artists Victoria Cassinova, Noah Humes, Ryosuke Kumakura, Muna Malik, David Ntephe, Edyta Pachowicz & Raelis Vasquez.
